Our Mission

To give back to the causes near and dear to our hearts with a focus on family, animals, and inclusion in tech. 

Our Support

We partner with folks like Central Texas Food Bank, Red Nose Day, Austin Pets Alive, and Girlstart. Girlstart, an organization bringing STEM education to young girls in underserved areas, has been a part of our community since 2015.

We believe in diversity and inclusion in tech; that starts with access to STEM education and female role models. Girlstart delivers just that. The women of Square Root, our Radical Girl Crew, each have their own stories about being a woman in technology. We take those experiences as fuel to create a thoughtful working environment at Square Root and to inspire the next generation through mentorship and teaching in partnership with Girlstart.

Our passions extend to family and animals. We have dozens of kids, fur babies, chickens, and even ducks in the Square Root Family. The people and creatures we love inspire our giving back efforts. We even landed on Great Place to Work’s list of the Best Workplaces for Giving Back in recognition of those efforts.

Our Impact

Our team hails from all over the world, and somehow we all found our way to Austin, Texas. As we put down roots individually and with Square Root, it’s important for us to create a meaningful impact in this community. Suffice to say we have a soft spot for this town. For the past seven years, we’ve participated in Amplify Austin, donated to non-profits, sponsored events, volunteered through paid volunteer hours + company volunteer days, and in 2020, we introduced a matching donation program.

Lastly, fulfilling our mission of inclusion in tech includes us. Our everyday actions influence whether or not Radicals feel seen, heard, and appreciated for who they are. We believe people leave an impression on others, so we seek to make those impressions positive. To help us out Square Root offers:
