Office Manager

We’re looking for an office manager with a genuine interest in startup culture, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong desire to learn. This role will join our Culture + People team. You’ll keep our officeoperations running smoothly and be the support hub for Square Root. Our three craftsman homes turned offices keep the role interesting, so each day here presents unique challenges. We need a go-getter, willing to jump into any task whether it’s keeping us caffeinated or planning our next company meeting.

The Gig

  • Greet guests + handle our mail and packages
  • Own office operations including vendor and lease management
  • Keep our office areas clean, orderly, and fully stocked with supplies

Executive Assistant

Description

Square Root is growing! To help support our leadership and culture teams, we’re looking for an assistant to infuse some organizational magic to the group. This role reports to Courtney, our Head of Culture + People, so you’ll be assisting with all things HR and Recruiting as well as supporting our executive team. You’ll tackle scheduling, travel booking, expense reports, and event planning. As the first impression for Square Root, you should bring a positive attitude, genuine interest in startup culture, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong desire to learn. Our ideal assistant will anticipate our executives’ needs, portray a stellar image of Square Root internally and externally, + be resourceful and meticulous about details. Customer Success Internship

Square Root is hiring: Customer Success Intern

Our customer success team is the bridge between our non-techie clients and our techie team. They handle new client implementation, account management, training, and everything in between. If it involves one of our users or buyers – they’re on the case! Now, they’re looking for an intern with a genuine interest in startup culture, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong desire to learn. Throughout the internship, this person will gain a snapshot of the customer success function in a company plus have a good sense of the day to day life at a startup. Each day here presents its own challenges, so, we need a go-getter, willing to jump into any task.

About You

  • You’ll be supporting the customer success team. Some days that will mean diving into what feels like senseless data and then presenting your findings back to the team. Other times it will be understanding new technologies. Whatever it is you’re excited for an opportunity to learn.
  • You should be able to handle ambiguity. Not all tasks will be straightforward. Sometimes we don’t know what we’re looking for, but with a little elbow grease and a lot of research, you’re able to work through it.
  • You possess superb verbal and written communication skills. Whether it’s writing user training, documenting product features, or speaking to a user – you’re able to adjust for the audience.
  • You’ve held a position that required customer service skills. You’ll be in on customer calls and will often be the point of contact for follow-up. You’ll need to be empathetic and approachable.
  • You have a background in project or event planning. You know the importance of maniacal attention to detail and have the motivation to produce high-quality work.

DevOps Engineer

At Square Root, we need amazing DevOps engineers to handle the demands of our customers. Our platform is continually evolving, and we’re working to provide more scale and automation to keep up with the customer and feature growth. Our DevOps engineering team works with software development teams to instill a culture of DevOps and builds shared components that make all teams faster and more successful. We’re a collaborative organization with an emphasis on iteration and learning. The Gig

  • You’ll help design and build our enterprise-scale SaaS infrastructure to stay ahead of our growing usage, planning for scalability, high availability, and low maintenance cost
  • You’ll collaborate with software engineering and data engineering
  • You’ll automate processes with a DevOps mindset, building infrastructure as code.
  • We use containerization, orchestration, configuration management and deployment automation. We don’t have CI/CD running yet, but with your help we will.
  • You’ll share best practices and mentor other Engineers in the areas where you’re an expert
  • Continuing to learn and grow, you’ll pick up new technologies and patterns as the product and industry evolve. While experience with these tools is not required, you’ll be working with AWS and Azure, Terraform, Docker, Chef, Jenkins, Kafka, ELK, and Datadog.

 

About You

  • You’ve got deep experience running web apps at scale
  • You’re a coder, not an administrator. You don’t manage one server at a time, you build frameworks for configuring and monitoring them
  • You have opinions on what makes a good DevOps tech stack, but you know that tech is dynamic so you don’t limit yourself to just one approach
  • You make the people around you better
  • You’re a thoughtful communicator, positive, with a bias for action

The Gig

Our customer success managers collaborate with customers + internal teams to deliver business value through our software + services. In this role, you’ll:

  • Tackle client integration + configuration of our products, training, project planning, contract management, and software delivery

  • Build strong relationships with our customers and gain a deep understanding of their industry and business strategy

  • Help our customers understand the full potential of our platform through upsells and ensure the success of renewals, which are the driving force of our business

  • Collaborate with teams from across Square Root to find the root cause of and creative solutions to real business problems

  • Be the voice of the customer, essential to project success and helping our customers reach their goals!

About You

Here’s what we think makes a great Customer Success Manager:

  • You’ve got 5+ years of customer-facing experience as an account manager, product manager, sales manager, or program manager for a software company

  • You’re experienced in managing client expectations + increasing client satisfaction, adoption, and growth

  • You know how to nurture a client for advocacy and work to expand their use of our product

  • You’re a thoughtful communicator with clear and concise verbal and written skills

  • You’re positive, self-motivated, and comfortable wearing multiple hats

  • You’re analytically-minded and love to solve complex problems

  • You’re innately curious and possess the initiative to tackle and own new projects or processes

  • You have a deep understanding of and passion for great user experience

  • You’ve got experience working within and adapting to technical teams

  • Computer Science degree or previous technical experience is a plus
