Software Architect

We’re on the hunt for an experienced technologist to be our software architect. You’ll collaborate across the company with product managers, engineers, designers, and leadership to push Square Root and our product, CoEFFICIENT, forward. This role is a combination of an architecture advocate and a technical leader with business perspective. You’ll take ownership of the architecture and weigh the goals, costs, and benefits to translate business needs into a technical strategy and timeline. To make it all happen, you’ll need tech savvy, good instincts when it comes to designing enterprise-class web architecture, and a passion for making others around you successful.

The Gig

  • Solve complex challenges including how to navigate a variety of needs such as evolving a legacy architecture, new feature development, rapid scaling, security, and multi-tenancy
  • Balance long-term vision with short-term pragmatism, and communicate the two in context of each other, helping the team understand the rationale
  • Weave your experience and feedback from our team + clients into a technical vision for our product
  • Nurture our product engineers to think with architecture design in mind through mentorship, coordination of work, and feedback on their ideas
  • Explore opportunities with our Sales team and use your experience to unearth creative solutions and appropriately scope them in conversations and contracts
  • Learn and grow, picking up new technologies and patterns as the product and the industry evolves. You’ll be working with Ruby, Rails, and front-end Javascript frameworks like Angular and React
  • Play a role in helping Square Root grow!

About You

  • You’ve demonstrated your ability as a leader and technologist with 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • You’ve got experience with SaaS architecture in a cloud setting, leveraging containerization, serverless tech, and microservices
  • You’re an excellent communicator. You understand the goals, know what’s practical to achieve, are willing to compromise, and clear + concise in explaining to any audience (engineers, remote teams, customers, and business leaders)
  • You’re innately curious and fanatical about learning, especially when it comes to understanding dev best practices, trends, and techniques
  • You’ve got a good eye for security and scale. You can whiteboard with the best of them, and also do code reviews to help folks implement the details
  • You’re a natural teacher and allow your students to make mistakes as they learn — and challenge you when you make mistakes, too
  • You’re positive, empathetic, adaptable, and always ready to pitch in and help.

DevOps Engineer

At Square Root, we need amazing DevOps engineers to handle the demands of our customers. Our platform is continually evolving, and we’re working to provide more scale and automation to keep up with the customer and feature growth. Our DevOps engineering team works with software development teams to instill a culture of DevOps and builds shared components that make all teams faster and more successful. We’re a collaborative organization with an emphasis on iteration and learning. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work with modern technologies in a startup culture, looking to have an immediate impact, and ready to rise to the challenge of a growing organization. The Gig

  • You’ll help design and build our enterprise-scale SaaS infrastructure to stay ahead of our growing usage, planning for scalability, high availability, and low maintenance cost
  • You’ll collaborate with software engineering and data engineering
  • You’ll automate processes with a DevOps mindset, building infrastructure as code.
  • We use containerization, orchestration, configuration management and deployment automation. We don’t have CI/CD running yet, but with your help we will.
  • You’ll share best practices and mentor other Engineers in the areas where you’re an expert
  • Continuing to learn and grow, you’ll pick up new technologies and patterns as the product and industry evolve. While experience with these tools is not required, you’ll be working with AWS and Azure, Terraform, Docker, Chef, Jenkins, Kafka, ELK, and Datadog.

 

About You

  • You’ve got deep experience running web apps at scale
  • You’re a coder, not an administrator. You don’t manage one server at a time, you build frameworks for configuring and monitoring them
  • You have opinions on what makes a good DevOps tech stack, but you know that tech is dynamic so you don’t limit yourself to just one approach
  • You make the people around you better
  • You’re a thoughtful communicator, positive, with a bias for action

Customer Success Manager

We’re looking for a Customer Success Manager to join our team of Radicals and help redefine Customer Success. We not only delight customers but also transform them into advocates of Square Root and our product, CoEFFICIENT. We develop lasting client relationships by identifying opportunities, measuring results, and focusing on successful business outcomes. Intrigued? Keep reading!

The Gig

Our customer success managers collaborate with customers + internal teams to deliver business value through our software + services. In this role, you’ll:

  • Tackle client integration + configuration of our products, training, project planning, contract management, and software delivery

  • Build strong relationships with our customers and gain a deep understanding of their industry and business strategy

  • Help our customers understand the full potential of our platform through upsells and ensure the success of renewals, which are the driving force of our business

  • Collaborate with teams from across Square Root to find the root cause of and creative solutions to real business problems

  • Be the voice of the customer, essential to project success and helping our customers reach their goals!

About You

Here’s what we think makes a great Customer Success Manager:

  • You’ve got 5+ years of customer-facing experience as an account manager, product manager, sales manager, or program manager for a software company

  • You’re experienced in managing client expectations + increasing client satisfaction, adoption, and growth

  • You know how to nurture a client for advocacy and work to expand their use of our product

  • You’re a thoughtful communicator with clear and concise verbal and written skills

  • You’re positive, self-motivated, and comfortable wearing multiple hats

  • You’re analytically-minded and love to solve complex problems

  • You’re innately curious and possess the initiative to tackle and own new projects or processes

  • You have a deep understanding of and passion for great user experience

  • You’ve got experience working within and adapting to technical teams

  • Computer Science degree or previous technical experience is a plus
