The innovative leader will play an active role in Square Root’s development of automotive partnerships and digital marketing offerings.
Square Root, creators of the data curation software CoEFFICIENT®, announced that David Metter, an automotive technology entrepreneur, has joined Square Root as a formal advisor. With 20+ years’ experience in automotive, retail, technology, and marketing, Metter brings an insightful perspective on how enterprise businesses think about their digital marketing strategy.
Metter will help Square Root continue their journey to help OEMs use and act on their data. His understanding of the complexity in the automotive industry, competitive drive, and ability to motivate groups to engage with customers will be an asset to Square Root and their growing roster of enterprise automotive and retail brands.
“David’s a visionary in the automotive technology space. His empathy for and understanding of the industry is a huge asset to Square Root as we expand our OEM relationships and partnerships into the digital marketing realm.”
David began his career on the showroom floor. As an early adopter of technology, he built a prospecting and follow-up system that helped him rise to become one of the top Chrysler salesmen in the country, moving his way up, eventually to General Manager of a dealership. He transitioned to the start-up space, heading up sales for Autobase for nearly 5 years, where he helped grow the small company into the leading automotive CRM software vendor. David served more than six years as Chief Marketing Officer for MileOne Automotive, a large, privately-held automotive dealership group. At MileOne, he built an industry-leading marketing organization, leveraging technology to increase market share while dramatically decreasing advertising spends per vehicle sold. Inspired by this varied experience, he founded AutoHook in 2011, which supplies walk-in traffic for dealers and OEMs.
Chris continued, “David possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and a knack for fostering lasting relationships. Those things are hallmarks of Square Root’s culture, making him an ideal fit to advise the entire team at Square Root.”
Square Root’s culture of innovation, customer empathy, and relationship-building mixed with their unique take on OEMs and the field drew David to the opportunity.
“Chris and the Square Root team bring a unique thesis around field management in automotive,” said David. “There’s a ton of possibility to have a big impact on automotive performance. I want to be a part of the journey they’re on to reimagine the field.”
