Square Root among select list of national companies recognized for standout culture and employee experience.

Inc. Magazine today named Square Root, creators of enterprise Store Relationship Management software, CoEFFICIENT®, one of the best workplaces in the nation in the publication’s third annual ranking in the fast-growing private company sector. This is the first time Square Root has been recognized on Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplace list for its exceptional workplace culture.

“Building a culture where our team thrives is at the center of everything we do,” said Chris Taylor, CEO of Square Root. “Our success is the direct result of the dedication of everyone at Square Root, and it’s an honor to be surrounded by such a talented team and to be recognized for the culture we all created.”

Based on both workplace benefits and direct employee feedback, the award is the result of a wide-ranging and comprehensive measurement of private American companies who have created exceptional workplaces through vibrant cultures, deep employee engagement, and stellar benefits. Out of thousands of applicants, Inc. singled out just under 300 winning companies nationally.

“Building a culture where our team thrives is at the center of everything we do,” said Chris Taylor, CEO of Square Root. “Our success is the direct result of the dedication of everyone at Square Root, and it’s an honor to be surrounded by such a talented team and to be recognized for the culture we all created.”

The award is the latest in a number of local and national accolades Square Root has received for its culture and workplace environment. In the last year alone, Square Root was named the 13th Best Small Workplace in the U.S. and the 12th Best Workplace in Texas by FORTUNE magazine, and was recognized as a Best Place to Work by the Austin Business Journal for the fourth year running. Its unique employee benefits and culture have also been featured in numerous national publications including Fast Company, and Inc., and was spotlighted on stage at SXSW Interactive in 2018, where the company’s COO shared lessons learned during a 5-month sabbatical hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.

As Square Root continues to rapidly scale, a key goal will be staying true to its culture and remaining strongly aligned to its four company values: Be Customer Inspired, Think Big—Do Bigger, Partner, and Thrive. The company’s benefits programs are designed to encourage authenticity and allow for a “choose your own adventure” atmosphere, with flexible work schedules, unlimited paid time off, $3000 per year to learn anything, and a peer-to-peer recognition program. Other company perks include regular team building activities, fully stocked kitchens, exercise and wellness programs, frequently catered lunches, family-friendly events, and both paid maternity and paternity leave.
