One of the great things about Austin is that there is always something going on in the ATX tech scene. For example, coming next week companies across Austin, including Square Root, will be opening their doors for the NewCoATX festival.

What is NewCo you ask?

NewCo is a festival that brings together budding entrepreneurs + curious minds and puts them face-to-face with local entrepreneurs and CEOs. This festival is unique in that it’s not in a central location; the different sessions are held at host offices across Austin. (NewCo puts on festivals across the world! Austin is just one of their many hubs.)

What makes NewCo companies different from other companies?

NewCo celebrates companies that are on a mission, companies that have moved past just profit to a higher purpose. For example, Square Root is a values driven company. Our four core values: Think Big – Do Bigger, Be Customer Inspired, Partner, and Thrive, set the tone for how we work with each other, on our product, and with our clients. Learn more about that here!

What’s Square Root’s session all about?

We’re talking funding! This is Square Root’s second year to host a NewCo session. Last year we talked about the 3 terrors of bootstrapping. This year, Chris is talking bootstrapping again and he’s bringing along his brother and Convey CEO, Rob Taylor, to talk about his past experiences with venture capital. In addition to their talk, Chris and Rob will be answering any and all questions from attendees. (They’re also the two brothers pictured above.)

Funding! Yes! That’s my thing. Who is else is talking funding?

MWR Legal: Raising Money the Right Way, From the Right People

Able Lending: Creative Financing Solutions for Growing Your Business

Okay yes, I’m in! What now?
