Focus on culture and teamwork earns Austin software company inclusion on inaugural list from Fortune Magazine and Great Place to Work®
Fortune and Great Place to Work® have named Square Root, a leading provider of Store Relationship Management (SRM) software, as one of 50 of the Best Workplaces for Camaraderie in America. Announced today, the company is one of just two Austin businesses represented on the national list.
The inaugural Best Workplaces for Camaraderie list consists of 50 companies from across the country and is based on employees’ assessments of the sense of team, fun and collegiality in the workplace. Winning companies were selected based on evaluations of over 250,000 randomly-selected employees from nearly 600 participating companies. Companies that achieved the highest overall results in their respective size categories were then ranked based on experiences such as how comfortable people feel being themselves, the quality of the personal connections between colleagues and how friendly, cooperative, and fun the workplace is.
“Having a strong sense of community and trust within our team is what helps drives our success,” said Chris Taylor, CEO of Square Root. “At Square Root, we have an atmosphere where people are both comfortable and happy. We are dedicated to partnering, and this is what helps us to continue to thrive and deliver impactful software we are truly proud of.”
Square Root’s inclusion as number 34 on the list stems from its passion for building a culture of empowerment among its team, with perks like wellness programs, an emphasis on celebrating company successes, and frequent team activities cited among the factors that keep team members happy and healthy. The award is the latest in a series of recent national accolades highlighting Square Root’s commitment to fostering a culture where every employee has the opportunity to grow and succeed. In 2015 alone, the company was named the second Best Small Place to Work and earned placement on the Great Workplaces for Women list, both by Fortune magazine, in addition to its local recognition as the fourth Best Small company to Work for in Central Texas.
